What can I expect from sessions with a Clinical Psychologist?
When you contact Ruby Psychological Services you can be assured that you will be treated with the utmost respect and sensitivity. We understand that seeking help for the first time or after years of seemingly not getttng the correct support can be daunting and anxiety provoking.
Clinical Psychologists do not diagnose. They work with people as individuals and support them in finding their way forward through their current difficulties. Dr Marchant is always keen to recognise and work with people's strengths.
We will ask for some initial information (by email or telephone depending on your preference) and will then invite you to attend an assessment appointment (or signpost you to an alternative service if necessary). There is no obligation to attend subsequent sessions.
If you decide that RPS are the correct service to meet your needs then we will work together to complete a collaborative formulation (understanding) of the reasons you have entered therapy and together plan how to move forward. RPS provide both short and long term therapy.
All contacts with RPS are completely confidential unless you disclose that you or another person are at risk or pose a serious risk to others. All data is managed in accordance with GDPR rules.
